First, I need to give Scott, my husband, some props. I wouldnt say I have cravings yet, it is more like I'm nauseated and there are only a few things that sound good. So Scott got up at 7 this morning and went to McDonalds for pancakes! Yummy!
About 2 hours ago I got hooked up to a CGMS, which stands for Continuous Glucose Monitoring System. It will check my sugar every 5 minutes and will alarm me if my sugar is going too high or too low. This will hopefully have a large impact on my ability to have a healthy pregnancy.
So now I really feel like a robot. I have 2 things plugged into me all the time, 24/7. Technology blows my mind! I have an insulin pump. Which I like to explain as "my fake pancreas" or "life support" and now my CGMS. Which reads my blood and transmits the info to a little machine in my pocket and tells me what is going on inside my body every 5 minutes!
I am so thankful God gave us brains, so that people could create things like this, even if it means I have to feel like a robot!
