Fasting and Blueberries

Today the doctors have me fasting until lunch and checking my blood sugar every 2 hours to make sure my basal rates on my pump are set correctly because I am still having highs.  And then again after lunch until dinner.  Once we get these number correct, they will change my bolus to carb ratio. About the time we get it straight we will probably have to change it again as the pregnancy progresses.

But here is something I didnt know. My endocrinologist told me most women (non diabetic and diabetic) have higher blood sugars in the beginning of pregnancy because your body is under such intense stress and the hormone levels. So that is good to know - that this is slightly normal, but still not ideal for my health and the health of the baby.

This week the baby is the size of a blueberry. But I am so hungry right now, I probably shouldn't be talking about blueberries.
